Children and Preparedness
Children can and should be incorporated into disaster preparedness and planning.
Depending on their age, children may require additional items in their disaster kit. You can engage children in a scavenger hunt to help collect these items.
Infants
- Diapers and wipes
- Trash bag for soiled diapers
- Milk or formula
- Thermos to keep things hot or cold
- Pacifier
School-Age Children
- Toy/Book/Game to keep them occupied
- Stuffed animal or blanket for comfort
- Paper and markers/crayons
- Snacks
